Deborah Wanangwa Mbale.
I am 23 years old, born on 1st December, 1999. I am a last born in a Family of 3 girls. I founded Mai Mbambande Foundation in 2020 through an inspiration from my Mother the time I thought of giving up and that nothing good would ever come out of me. I started my journey by firming different women in villages via my phone and I would post those inspiring stories. I became passionate about it because the stories resonated with my own. As the passion grew, I started beaming the stories in rural areas to women and girls so they would be inspired too. Fast forward, the foundation started establishing clubs in schools, establishing women clubs and taking care of elderly people. We have a clubs of women in Lilongwe. We do microfinance as a way of empowering them economically. We have a club of teen mothers. We teach them different skills such as tailoring as a way of helping them take care of their Children. In addition, we are looking after 60 elderly people. Personal resources do all this we have no funding. I do business and part time jobs. We also have a bursary program that is taking care of girls that are coming from underprivileged homes.
